So this is how to build a really cheap computer.
It’s going to be a Hyperthreading Pentium 4 with 2GB of memory.
Step 1.
Go to Amazon and buy a cheap case, get the one with a PSU in it. Yes it’s going to be ropey but the budget is tight.
Here’s the one I use: CIT CSCIT1005 Midi ATX Case 500W – Black/Silver
So that costs a measly £24.19, but that’s really eaten into our budget.

2. Find a mobo.
Ok, so look under your desk and find the pile of mobo boards:

Oh look, there’s one I built earlier.. anyway, if you’re lucky, you should find a mobo with a processor in it already if not…
3). Select a processor
Simply look around your desk until you find one.

Luckily though, our Mobo has a CPU in it so we don’t need another.
3). Insert the Mobo into the case

4). Nows the time to add the other things you might need
Maybe a SATA RAID card or a USB PCI hub, anything you can find lying about, you can see an Asus Radeon HD 3450 512MB Graphics Card ready to go in.

5). Next, wire up those pesky front panel fly leads
(I’ve also installed a spare AGP Asus Radeon HD 3450 512MB Graphics Card in this case):

6). It’s great at this point to find the Hard Disk Drive.
but remember to set the jumper

7). All wired up and ready to turn on:

8). Ok, find somewhere to plug it into you KVM and power:

9). Et Voila, a working computer for £25 (with change)

10. Setup the Bios and install an OS (coming soon)
